Garden FanciesAdd a happy note of whimsy to a corner of your garden with a Garden Fancy created from found objects! Bring home a piece of functional artwork handcrafted in the heart of North Carolina from vintage china or glass. A Garden Fancy can lift your spirits! Many are embellished with a teaspoon (usuallly silver plated) that can serve as a bird perch. Enjoy your new garden ornament in any way that strikes your fancy – as a bird feeder, as a bee and butterfly bath, as an informal rain gauge, as a votive candle holder, or simply as a fanciful focal point in your garden. Attached to your ornament is a hardware fixture suitable for fitting a garden stake or copper pipe roughly 7/16” in diameter. We do not include stakes with our Garden Fancies as the cost of shipping them is prohibitive. In our own garden we use tomato stakes which are plastic coated metal and are strong and rust resistant. We wrap the top of the stake with a little electrical tape to make it a snug fit in the hardware fixture, as they are not the exact same diameter.
We recommend that you bury 8-12” of your chosen stake in the ground for stability. Use a mallet to pound the stake into the ground, and then place your Garden Fancy on top.
Note that you should take commonsense precautions with your Garden Fancy as with any other breakable item. You should consider bringing your ornament inside in the winter to prevent its breaking during freezing weather. Hand washing is recommended. Do not soak or submerge.
At Caspar's Place we pride ourselves on our offerings and represent each item to the best of our ability. Please bear in mind that we do our best to describe and photograph each item, but pre-owned pieces of china and glass show wear appropriate to their age. Each garden ornament is being sold as is, with any substantial defects described to the best of our ability.
